Hall of Fame

Wildcat Wrestling Community,,

The Johnson City Wrestling Club is excited to announce that another one of our great wrestling alum has been inducted into the Johnson City Athletic Hall of Fame. Keith Smith is as deserving a candidate as any. Keith’s success as a wrestler was very unique. Not only was Keith a two time Section IV Wrestling Champion, he also won an individual Section IV Title in the Track & Field event Pole Vault. Backing up his two Section IV titles in wrestling, Keith was also a 2x NYS Place Winner. He did not finish there. Keith attended Oswego State University where he earned a degree as a Technology Teacher. He also continued his great legacy on the mat earning All American status. There are only a handful of JC Wrestlers that have been Section IV Champions, NYS Place Winners & College All Americans including: Steve Farr, Matt Sorochinsky, Keith Smith, Joe Privitere, Josh Glenn & Zach Colgan. No surprise that most names on that list have been inducted into the JC Athletic Hall of Fame. When Keith finished at Oswego, he returned to Johnson City High School as a Technology Teacher & the Assistant Wrestling Coach. It is no coincidence that with Keith as part of the staff, Johnson City earned it’s third NYS Team Championship. The JC Wrestling community congratulates you on all of your accomplishments Keith. We hope to help you celebrate in style.
